In many tales, dragons pursue or guard luminous pearls that grant control over rain, rivers, and the forces of nature. Here, the pearl is transformed into a source of light: a small moon suspended above the creature it both protects and is protected by. Hand-sculpted in stoneware and adorned with freshwater pearls and jade, the dragon emerges from a weathered landscape reminiscent of sea cliffs and coral-worn stone, conveyed via a saturated blue underglaze.
